.History.

Built from 1996 (by Adtranz, now known as Bombardier Transportation) for the railway line c2c (formerly known as LTS Rail), which covers the South of Essex (in England, UK) from Shoeburyness to Fenchurch Street in London. They were brought on to the line to replace the "slam door" Class 310 and 312 EMUs, and marked the final part of the modernisation on the railway line. Delays and system failures saw them eventually released fully into service as from the start of 2002.
Privatisation of the railways brought on the modernisation of the line. Prism Rail (the company who won the privatisation bid to run LTS Rail and re-named the line to c2c) was taken over by National Express a couple of years later, and are now the owners of c2c.

Because the Class 357 is built specifically for c2c, I decided to use a picture of the Class 357 in the basic livery it was released in (white, with green doors. Mainly known as LTS livery). Although classed as LTS livery, they were also released with grey doors, and that, with the white, is the basic undercoat livery (even though this was also classed as LTS livery). This gives the effect that it can be used on BVE as if it is not specifically based on any railway line.
